Northern Stage Rally Championship

Bulletin 4 – March 2006

Just a quick update between the North Humberside Forest Rally and the SMC Stages.

There were 20 contenders out at the weekend battling it out over the tracks in the North Yorkshire forests. Highest score of 97 went to Alan Richardson & Christopher Roe in their 1400cc Nova. Just behind on 85 was Matthew Whattam, followed a couple of points behind by Darren Moon & John McNichol. Darren and John also picked up the award for highest places ANCC Championship crew – congratulations.

The latest scores have made some significant changes at the top of the overall Championship standings. Nigel Barber takes the lead in the Driver’s Championship but 55 points behind there are then 5 drivers covered by just 6 points. Things are even closer with the Navigators – there is a tie for the lead between Andy Ward and Ian Jackson, followed by a tie for third between Matthew Whattam and Christopher Roe - who are in turn followed by three more contenders within 6 points. It’s starting to look very competitive. The Forest Challenges are led by Nigel Barber and Ian Jackson.
