Northern Stage Rally Championship

Bulletin 2 – February 2005

The Forest Challenge got off to a good start with the Riponian Stages last weekend. The overall number of entries was probably a disappointment for the organisers, Ripon & DMSC, but the quality was certainly impressive and the event was well supported by contenders with 31 taking the start. All was not well though for many crews - I can't remember an event where so many contenders failed to finish. I hope that your particular reason was not too painful either to you or your bank balance.

Star performers on the day were Alan Richardson & Christopher Roe, who won the (Championship adjusted) class 1 – although they were entered in class 2 on the event, because they were in a 1400cc car they count in class 1 for Championship purposes. It will be a lot easier when all events run the same capacity splits! The result netted them 106 points to take an early lead in the Forest challenge. Close behind were Dave Hemingway / Jim Plevey on 103 and Roger Priestnall / James Orton on 102. This result gives Roger and James an impressive early lead in the overall tables.

Miscellaneous

All drivers should finally receive decals this week. Please ensure that you place one on each side of your car and let me know if you need replacements at any time. I will be out looking on some events - I give one friendly warning before deducting points - beware!

See you in Blackpool if you're doing the NW Stages. Good luck!

Mike
