Northern Stage Rally Championship

               Bulletin 4 – March 2004

A mixed bag or results on the rallywiththelongesttitleinthehistoryofthesport (a.k.a. The Alternative Sign Centre Robin Hood Forest Stages!). 18 contenders took part out of the 56 starters in the modern section of the event. A number of crews were struck by bad luck and were forced into retirement, leaving Chris Peart and Gordon Blyth to take top score on the event with their 4th in class. Without an early arrival penalty their score would have been even better (I won’t tell anyone Gordon!). Next best score came from Alex Taylor who also managed to finish inside the top 10 overall in his Impreza. Chris Greenall was next up in 11th overall and 11th in the largest over 2-litre class.

Alex’s score takes him to the head of the overall and MV driver’s tables with Richard Wormald and John Deegan hanging onto the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively. Dave Hammond remains at the top of the overall Navigator’s table from Chris Smith, with Gordon moving up to 3rd and also taking the lead in the MV Challenge. The classes are lead by drivers John Deegan, Bob Marshall, Richard and Alex and navigators, Chris, Richard Hage, Dave and Jonathan Turnbull.
