BULLETIN 1, 25th JANUARY 2006

A very quick bulletin which should hopefully reach you before the Shaw Trophy, our opening round for 2006. The big news is that we now have a sponsor, in the shape of ‘Midnight Motorsport’. A new venture, they hope to offer a range of services, aimed firmly at road rally competitors - have a look at the flier on the next page. My thanks to Matt Blood for offering to put the name above the door, I wish the new business every success. Please pay the website as soon as you can.

The provisional results sent out in the last bulletin are now final, well done to the award winners and thanks to those of you who took the time to send back questionnaires and voting forms. The ‘Best Event’ Award will be announced at the Awards Presentation Evening, which is on Friday 3rd February, at Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre, Cleckheaton. It starts at 8pm, there will be a charity auction for a few items of motor sport memorabilia and the special guest is Fred Henderson of Colway Motorsport, always an entertaining bloke to listen to with some colourful stories to tell! It’s free to attend and you don’t have to be an award winner, the more the merrier. Hopefully there should be a bit of big screen rallying too, stage rather than road but it should still be worth a watch.

I already have some new registrations for 2006, plus a few ‘old faces’ making a welcome return! While I won’t be at the Shaw, there will be forms available and Ian Gibbins (car 9) will take your money off you, so please sign up for the championship again if you haven’t already done so. There won’t be another bulletin out before the Bruce Robinson in February, so if you haven’t signed up by then, this will be the last bulletin you receive. Those of you who were out on eight rounds last year and were shown in red on the points tables get automatic free registration.

I already have two drivers looking for navigators for the season – Adrian Green, who won two rounds and finished third in last year’s championship, is sorted for the Shaw and the Bruce but needs a nav from then onwards, call him on 07960 525011 or email adyjgreen@btinternet.com if you are after a competitive ride. Meanwhile a newcomer to our series is Myles Greave, already out on the Shaw in his 205 GTI but looking for a nav for future events. He can be reached on 07876 686915 or mgleave@navidata.co.uk .

See you at the Bruce Robinson in February.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

ROUND 1 – SHAW TROPHY, 28TH / 29TH JANUARY, WHICKHAM & DMC

I doubt they will have any entries left, but any offers of marshals will still be much appreciated – contact Peter Metcalfe on 01661 830963. Please note the change of start venue, to Morpeth Leisure Centre, map ref. 81 / 197 858. Signing on is from 2130, with first car away at 2331. A healthy entry of 42 with plenty of ANCC crews out, although the seeding is rather curious – what did you all write on your entry forms?!

ROUND 2 – BRUCE ROBINSON, 11TH / 12TH FEBRUARY, LINCOLN MC & CC

Regs should have got to you for this event, 150 miles of classic Lincolnshire lanes on maps 113, 121 and 122 with five miles of smooth whites. If you haven’t had regs, give Phil or Aggie Foster a call on 01427 718601. Marshals should contact Tony Sanderson on 01522 792499. The start is at LA Leisure, Lincoln , map ref. 121 / 926 681.

ROUND 3 – RYEMOOR TROPHY, 18TH / 19TH MARCH, MALTON MC

Again, regs should already have reached you. 155 miles in North Yorkshire , starting at Raskelf Village Hall (100 / 493.5 708). Like the Bruce, this is also an EMAMC and ANEMMC round so should draw a good entry. Details from Plug Pulleyn on 01347 811013, chief marshal is Nick Skaife on 01751 475455.
