Northern Road Rally Championship

BULLETIN 3, 30TH NOVEMBER 2005

Dear contender, please find enclosed the latest tables for the championship. With two rounds to go, it looks like a fight down to the wire for most of the awards, good luck to all of you competing on the final two rounds. Please note that the tables do not include any marshalling points for the Beaver, as I have rushed this out to get to you so have not yet received details of who marshalled. Rest assured these will be added on for next time! For this reason the club championship table overleaf does NOT include the Beaver scores yet.

Many congratulations to Dan Robinson for finally securing his first win last weekend – looks like the results were very close, but with plenty of you scoring good points. The win bumps Dan up to second in the Drivers’ tables and strengthens Ian’s lead at the head of the Navigators’. The champions could be decided on the Civil Service Rally but with the right results for those chasing, it could all have to wait until the Cossack.

It is a far from ideal situation to end the season with three events in as many weekends, unfortunately Eastwood had little choice but to re-schedule the Cossack, a difficult decision but I think the right one. Even if it had not been included in our championship on the new date, the series would still have been best 8 scores to count so leaving it out would only have penalized those people who had planned to do it and needed it as their eighth score. All being well there will be a better spread of dates for 2006, we are still resolving a couple of dates for later in the year so the full calendar is not yet finalized. I can tell you though that the first round will once again be the Shaw Trophy at the end of January, as it ran well and proved popular last year. You should get some regs through the post before Christmas for it.

As ever, if you have any queries regarding the scores or think I have missed you off, please drop me a line. Unfortunately I can’t be at either of the last two rounds due to other commitments, but you can contact me via the usual means (see below).
